Read Key Takeaways from the June Listening Sessions

Each year, ITUP travels (now virtually!) around the state to connect with local health care and community-based partners on a deeper level about how state-level policy impacts California communities. This year ITUP convened Regional Workgroups (listening sessions) around the state on CalAIM implementation, specifically focused on building partnerships between community-based organizations and the health care delivery system to make the goals of CalAIM meaningful for California communities. The CalAIM initiative is a major step toward creating a health care delivery system that centers the needs of California communities served by the Medi-Cal program — and implementation is moving forward quickly across the state.

In these convenings, ITUP gave an update on CalAIM implementation, expanded connections between community-based organizations and the health care delivery system, and discussed actionable ways to address challenges and build successful partnerships to ensure the success of CalAIM goals.

Regional workgroup discussions inform ITUP’s policy work and future convenings, including panel topics and speakers at the ITUP annual statewide conference, Policy Forums, publications, and the annual Notes From the Field publication.
