Over the past decade, the state’s Medi-Cal Program has significantly expanded and evolved. Over the next few years, California’s Medi-Cal Managed Care program will be undergoing many changes with the goal of achieving better health outcomes and create a more equitable health care system for Californians. With the first phase of CalAIM Implementation right around the corner, this event will explore the preparation and anticipated challenges ahead for the Medi-Cal program.

Hear from the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) on their preparations for CalAIM implementation that will start in 2022, as well as from two panels of regional leaders in health across the state.

• In the first panel, hear from county health care services leaders about the nuances of CalAIM implementation paralleled with pending Medi-Cal Managed Care plan changes occurring through DHCS’s Medi-Cal procurement.
• In the second panel, hear from ITUP’s regional workgroup participants on their perspective for making CalAIM meaningful and a means to address the social determinants of health.
