This past June, the University of California, Berkeley; University of California, Los Angeles; University of California, San Francisco; and researchers from The Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy at UCSF updated their research brief Maintaining Clinic Financial Stability: Navigating Change, Leveraging Opportunities. The clinic financial primer provides information on the funding environment of community clinics and health centers (CCHCs). Topics covered include funding at the federal, state, and local level, strategies to achieve clinic financial stability, and how to thrive in an uncertain future. The brief details strategies for strengthening the safety net provider network in light of federal and state funding uncertainties.
The report was written by Dr. Annette Gardner, as part of a collection of research briefs funded by the Blue Shield of California Foundation. The collection of reports describes the impact of health care reform and finances on services provided to low-income populations.
