The Institute of Medicine has posted a very interesting link on the costs of health care. Of particular interest is a graphic extrapolating the possible price of food had their costs increased as rapidly as health care costs since 1945.
When total expenditures are in the trillions, a number unfathomably large to most, sometimes the best way to convey the spiraling cost increases is to scale down to something as small as a gallon of milk.
