Health Reform Event in Sacramento on Thursday

This Thursday, Feb. 24th, HHS Region IX, the Department of Managed Health Care, MRMIB, and the Office of the Insurance Commissioner are convening an important policy briefing.

Senior Administration Officials from D.C. and Sacramento will be providing information on and insights into two new federal programs initiated by the ACA: the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Program (PCIP) and the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP).

PCIP is a health coverage option for people who have been locked out of the health insurance market because of a pre-existing condition, and provides the same coverage that a healthy person receives and at the same price! The CAP offers resources to states and territories to educate consumers about their health coverage options and ensure their access to accurate information.

The event features:

  • Richard Popper & Eliza Bangit, CMS
  • Herb K. Schultz, HHS Region IX
  • Janette Casillas, MRMIB
  • Cindy Ehnes, DMHC
  • Janice Rocco, DOI

Event Details: Thursday, February 24, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Department of Health Care Services, East End Complex, 1500 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95814

Everyone is welcome, but space is limited, so RSVP now to Eric Alborg at eric.alborg@hhs.gov or by calling (415) 437-8500.
