The state of Maine’s Advisory Committee of Health System Development (ACHSD) recently issued an in-depth report, Options and Opportunities for Implementing the ACA in Maine.
The ACHSD was established under Maine law to guide the development of the State Health Plan, analyze factors driving health care costs and generate payment reform reports to the Legislature.
Over the past eight months, the ACHSD has held public meetings and discussed key elements of the ACA, and how Governor-elect LePage and the Maine Legislature can implement them to the state’s best advantage. Their recommendations, detailed in the new report, may be useful to us and other states grappling with implementation plans.
