Applications are now available for Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP), California’s new state-run/federally-funded insurance program for people with pre-existing conditions who have been denied individual or private coverage. Applications will be processed quickly on a first-come-first-served basis, and coverage will begin by the end of the month. How To Apply… more

Another useful resource! CMS recently released this Health Reform Implementation Chart listing all actions taken by the agency as of August 20, 2010 to implement health reform. Stay tuned to the CMS website as they plan to update the chart on a regular basis. more
Current 1115 Waiver Extended 2 Months

Last month, DHCS asked CMS for a 60 day extension of the current 1115 waiver (which was set to expire on August 31). On August 27, CMS wrote a letter to the state informing us that it had approved the extension until October 31. DHCS anticipates that the remaining issues… more
