Speaking of Exchanges…

Still on the Governor Schwarzenegger’s desk are over a dozen health care bills that passed the legislature in late August. The Governor has until September 30th — just 8 days from today! — to sign or veto each of them.
Among those bills are SB 900 (Alquist & Steinberg) and AB 1602 (Perez), sister bills that would initiate establishment of the California Health Benefit Exchange, and begin the work to ensure the Exchange is up-and-running by its intended start date: January 1, 2014.
As the Governor contemplates which way to vote on this year’s Exchange legislation, it is imperative that those with strong opinions on the bills express their thoughts and analysis as soon as possible.
