SB 56 on Assembly Floor This Friday
|August 18, 2010||Posted by ITUP under Blog||
Last week, we blogged about SB 56 (Alquist). In short, the bill would authorize local initiative health plans, county organized health care systems, and county medical service programs to enter into joint ventures to offer coordinated health plans to the individual and group markets. Re-read our blog post for more background.
Status Update! SB 56 is now in the Assembly (it passed out of the Senate earlier this summer) on what is called the “Third Reading.” We understand that the bill is scheduled to be taken up for a vote on the Assembly floor this Friday, Aug. 20.
If you want to show your support, there is still time to submit a floor letter. To do so, contact Peter Hansel at the Senate Health Committee today (916-651-4111 or email@example.com).
We will keep you updated as soon as the vote happens.
