Bi-Partisan Amendments and American Health Care

Three amendments to be offered by Senators Wyden (D-Oregon) and Collins (R-Maine) after the 4-5 day break waiting on the CBO score:

-Wyden’s Free Choice Amendment, which allows employers qualified to purchase insurance through the Exchange to be able to give employees vouchers to instead purchase their OWN plan (as opposed to the employer-sponsored plan)

-Collins’ amendment to allow persons over 30 to be able to purchase the ‘catastrophic coverage’ plan if they do not qualify for premium subsidies

-Altering the insurer tax to reward those companies that hold down premium costs (and penalize those that don’t), and impose fees on insurers attempting to raise premium costs through the reform implementation phase
